Rick Hutton wanted early on to make a difference with cleaner water and the air we breathe. He pursued an Environmental Studies degree with an emphasis in Hydrology. After working for two Environmental Engineering Consulting Firms, he knew the demand for screen and shade products would surge with changes in modern architectural trends and energy policy. To serve this growing need, in 2001 Rick opened his business sourcing innovative, high-performance shading products that condition indoor and outdoor living environments. High-Tech Screens & Shades was born.
Peggy Hutton earned a Business Management degree and had a career with a respected Insurance Company as a claims adjuster, helping people put their lives back together. Her Customer Service, Home Damage Assessment experience, Business Management, and natural Design acumen lead her to join Rick at High-Tech Screens & Shades. Peggy serves as chief design consultant.
